Summit Health Law Partners Expands Litigation Practice with Two Key Appointments

Summit Health Law Partners, P.C., a firm trusted by clients for strategic counsel in health law, today announced the appointment of Richard Goldstein as litigation partner and Robert L. (Bob) Peabody as of counsel. Richard and Bob are seasoned trial attorneys who will add tremendous depth to the firm’s litigation team.

“We are very excited to have these two veteran, highly skilled attorneys join our growing litigation practice,” said Bob Blaisdell, Managing Partner. “Their more than six combined decades of experience – with significant and noteworthy stints on both sides of the courtroom – will be of immense benefit to our clients.”

Richard Goldstein is rejoining the firm after a successful solo career. He has extensive experience in health care litigation, including peer review, physician discipline, licensing issues, regulatory matters, and government fraud investigations. He has a national practice representing scientists and academic researchers in misconduct matters and academic fraud cases. His background includes work on Massachusetts ballot questions, ethics, lobbying and campaign finance compliance, as well as construction law, capital projects, and public bidding disputes.

Richard is a graduate of the University of Chicago and Brooklyn Law School, and he clerked for U.S. District Court Justice Leonard D. Wexler. In over 35 years as an attorney, Richard has been an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of New York and an Assistant Attorney General in Massachusetts. He has also served as chief litigation counsel for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, and was outside counsel to the former Massachusetts Turnpike Authority during the Central Artery/Tunnel (“Big Dig”) Project. He is a resident of Brookline.

Bob Peabody has built an extensive and respected practice as a trial attorney over more than 35 years. His criminal and civil regulatory defense work in Massachusetts and New York has included white-collar matters involving corporate clients and individuals facing enforcement actions and related litigation in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative settings. He also has experience in representing companies and management in securities, health care, tax, labor, and corporate fraud matters.

A graduate of Harvard College and Boston College School of Law, Bob spent seven years as a state prosecutor and eight years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Massachusetts, including a stint as a senior prosecutor in the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. He is a resident of Somerville.
